Critter that has a 1/30 (3.33%) chance of spawning in place of an ordinary Frog in the Jungle. The Mystic Frog has only 5 health and no defense, and can be damaged by other enemies and players.

Unlike most critters, the Mystic Frog cannot be caught with a Bug Net, which means there is no craftable cage for it.

If the player throws Purification Powder on it, it will transform into the Mystic Slime town pet. Afterwards, the Mystic Frog will no longer spawn. If the Mystic Slime is killed, it will respawn naturally without the need to purify another Mystic Frog. Only one Mystic Frog can be alive at a time.

It is one of the few entities that can be detected by the Lifeform Analyzer or its upgrades.

Rare entity that can be found in the Space layer. It resembles a slime attached to a balloon, floating around midair. It does not damage the player, nor does it take damage from any source. The player can break its balloon with any weapons, tools, projectiles, etc., and then it will transform into the Clumsy Slime. Afterwards, the Clumsy Balloon Slime will no longer spawn.

If the Clumsy Slime is killed, it will respawn naturally without the need to break another Clumsy Balloon Slime's balloon. Only one Clumsy Balloon Slime can be alive at a time.

It is one of the few entities that can be detected by the Lifeform Analyzer or its upgrades.

Rare entity that can be found in the Cavern layer after Skeletron has been defeated. It resembles a Chest and hops around like a slime, attempting to reach the player. It does not damage the player nor take damage from them, but it does take damage from enemies. If the player presses the ⚷ Open/Activate button on it while having a Golden Key in their inventory, it will transform into the Elder Slime. Afterwards, the Old Shaking Chest will no longer spawn.

If the Elder Slime is killed, it will respawn naturally without the need to unlock another Old Shaking Chest. Only one Old Shaking Chest can be alive at a time.

It is one of the few entities that can be detected by the Lifeform Analyzer or its upgrades.

There are 8 different Town Slimes; different from the Town Bunny, Town Cat, and the Town Dog, all kinds of Town Slimes can all exist at the same time, with each Slime having different move–in conditions. As with most other NPCs, the condition only needs to be fulfilled once; the Town Slimes will respawn on their own should they be killed.

Like other NPCs, Town Slimes also require a valid standing point in the house (a home tile). They may not be able to share a house with another NPC if the house is too small.

Squire Slime moves in after dropping a Copper Helmet or a Copper Shortsword on a slime.
