The spawning mechanics differ between Java and Bedrock editions. In both editions, they spawn in the Overworld above the player if the since last rest statistic is at least 1 hour (72000 ticks or 3 in-game days). This statistic is reset when the player enters a bed, dies, or switches the doInsomnia gamerule from false to true. Furthermore, the player must not have a block overhead that blocks light in any way;
La mecánica de aparición difiere entre las ediciones Java y Bedrock. En ambas ediciones, aparecen en el Overworld por encima del jugador si la estadística «desde el último descanso» es de al menos 1 hora (72 000 ticks o 3 días en el juego). Esta estadística se restablece cuando el jugador entra en una cama, muere o cambia la regla del juego doInsomnia de false a true. Además, el jugador no debe tener ningún bloque sobre su cabeza que bloquee la luz de alguna manera.
