* **Optimization (Culling):** To keep the game running smoothly, it doesn't draw block faces hidden behind *opaque* cubes.
* **Light:** Opaque blocks (stone, dirt) completely absorb light. Transparent blocks allow it to pass (water and ice dampen it).
* **Rendering:** If a block is transparent, the game must render everything behind it.

#### 📂 Main Categories
1. **Opaque:** Cobblestone, planks, ores. They block light, and mobs can always spawn on top of them.
2. **Transparent Full:** Glass, leaves. They allow light through. Adjacent glass blocks "merge" visually for a seamless look.
3. **Partial:** Stairs, slabs, fences. Technically "transparent" because they don't fill the entire cube volume.
